Respite Care

Through the Idaho Respite Care Voucher Program primary caregivers get financial relief for services rendered by a provider in a child’s natural support system. Qualified families with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) get time to decompress and tend to important matters with peace of mind that their child is being cared for.

Respite Care can be used to conduct personal business, including going to the gym, running errands, attending doctor appointments, attend activities, spend quality time with other family members among other daily life activities.

Before applying for a respite care voucher, your child will need a Comprehensive Diagnostic Assessment (CDA) and a Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) assessment to authorize your child for a respite voucher. The CDA and CANS are managed and scheduled by Liberty Healthcare. Their contact information is 1-877-456-1233.
